Cute Little Girl's Shirt Applique

So it was the Saturday night before Easter and all through the house, not a kiddo was stirring......but mommy was scurrying frantically to find something to fill the Easter baskets! Then I remembered: "Hey, didn't I buy some cute little white shirts on sale to dress up some time?" Yep, found them in my stash, now what to do to dress them up? I've heard that you could use the trusty Cricut to cut out applique..............and I heard correctly! So easy peasy and cute! Just make sure that you have a really sticky mat and your Heat and Bond already ironed to your fabric. Take a look at how these cute little purse appliques turned out:

Here are the sweeties modeling their new shirts for Easter:

It's Time to Plant Creative Seeds at the "Plant a Punkin Seed" Linking Party Every Friday!!! (and a Bunny Stitchery Pillow)

I'm so excited to be hosting my first linking party!   I have so enjoyed other's linking parties as they just tend to plant "creative seeds" in my brain.  So, come plant a "creative seed" here at Punkin Seed Productions!   Here is the creative seed I'm planting today:

This is a stitchery that has been colored with crayon - have you ever done this?  It is super easy and so much fun!  You can take about any picture you can think of, stitch it on your fabric, color it in with crayons, place a towel over the top of it and "set the crayon" with an iron (just run it over the top of the towel), add some fun buttons and fabric, and POOF - a cute little pillow for spring!  Is this creative seed taking hold in fertile soil?  I bet it is!
O.k., it's your turn.  Here's the skinny on what to do:

  1. Tell all your bloggy friends there is a new linky party!!!
  2. Link to your specific post on your blog, no Etsy sites please.
  3. Grab the button below and place it within your linking post.
  4. Visit other friends, new and old, who are planting creative seeds (remember to leave comments)!
  5. Check back to see if you have been featured from the previous Punkin Seed Party!  If you have, make sure to grab the "I've been featured" button and wear it with pride on your blog!
  6. Leave a comment here - you know how I love hearing from all my friends!!!!

Little Girl Skirts for Spring

As I was thinking about Easter, it reminded me of these two little skirts I did for my girls last year for their Easter Baskets.  They are very quick and easy and look so cute on.  My girls love them!

I ran across this fun and easy way to make the skirt with no pattern required!  I just added the applique - the skirt was SOOOOOO easy.  You sew from the salvaged end to end and the bottom hem is enclosed in ribbon.  The orignianl instructions (FREE THAT IS) came from Oliver and S.  A very quick make and I just used scrap fabric I had laying around!
